The forum is a digital information platform for the international Jamaican music industry providing market intelligence for artistes and music industry professionals to develop better business strategies. Video posts from knowledgeable players in the international industry will be posted monthly on a range of topics starting July 1st with "The State and Future of Live Jamaican Music" along with an archive of research and reference materials about Jamaica's music and creative industries.

IRD utilizes media and technology each year to highlight the power and impact of Jamaican music and reggae culture globally and honours important contributors to the growth and development of Jamaican music. IRD 2009 salutes ISLAND RECORDS as it celebrates its 50th Anniversary and Artiste/Tour manager COPELAND FORBES as he launches his Reggae My Life Is brand, for their invaluable contribution to the internationalization of Jamaican music and culture.
